Hear them. See them.
An organization created for people who live outside the box.
Launched in 2016, Inside Outside Upside Down Arts (IOU Arts) is a Minnesota-based organization, registered as a 501(3)(c) through their fiscal agent and partner, Fraser. IOU Arts was created on the premise that everyone deserves a chance to shine. IOU’s mission is to raise awareness and funding for differently abled artists and the art programs that support their individuality and talents. IOU Arts does this through events, corporate sponsorshipst, strategic partnering, and simply having the right people in place who hold the drive and passion to celebrate all of us living outside of the box.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
Amy views her 20-year-plus marketing career as a vast and endless exploration in Psychology. She has dedicated her career primarily to the healthcare, technology, and small business areas. She currently owns Hey Red Communications, LLC where she serves as an independent consultant as well as being the “6th man” or extra team player for client’s marketing teams. In her desire to help others promote who they are and what they stand for, personal branding is of great interest. It is this interest and her work in mental health that has inspired her to promote and lift-up differently abled artists through her efforts at IOU Arts. Amy is head-over-heels with her two active daughters and spends her down-time fitness training, enjoying the arts, and traveling. She holds an MBA from Metropolitan State University.
Rhodora is driven by compassion, creativity, and curiosity of the arts and artists. She feels that IOU Arts provides the platform for artists to promote their talents through creative expressions and authenticity. Rhodora has worked in healthcare for over 20 years. Her passion for medicine has led her to participate in a number of medical missions in the Philippines. She is inspired to help others and feels that IOU Arts allows her to reach out to our local audience of artists here in Minnesota.
Connections and relationships are what Rose cares about the most. Rose has spent her entire professional career in the nonprofit sector with the past 14 years at Fraser, a nonprofit that serves children and adults with special needs. Rose’s life was forever changed when her beautiful daughter Nina was diagnosed with autism and then tragically passed when she was only 13. Since then, she has dedicated her life to volunteering and working at Fraser on the development team. Rose is blessed with two other daughters who live out their passions and dreams, and a husband whose support and encouragement has strengthened their journey. Rose believes IOU Arts brings both connections and relationships while showcasing the amazing artwork of many talented, differently abled artists who just happen to make this world more beautiful.
